5th Inaugural Lectures
We wish to invite everyone to the 5th PhD Inaugural Lectures on 22 November 2019 (Friday). The event will be held at the CME Auditorium, in St. Martin de Porres Building of the University of Santo Tomas, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Inaugural Lectures is a venue for the new PhD graduates of the Department of Philosophy to present to a wider audience a portion of his/her dissertation and subject it to a critical appreciation from a panel of invited reactors and participants. For this particular occasion, we'll be hearing from:
1. Dr. Pablito Baybado, Jr. - "Ethno-religious Identity, Ethics, and Responsibility: Levinas's Critique of Religion"
2. Dr. Emmanuel de Leon - "Sulyap sa Kasaysayan ng Akademikong Pilosopiya sa Filipinas"
3. Dr. Marella Ada Mancenido-Bolaños - "Narrowing the Gap between Theory and Practice: The Community of Inquiry and its State in the Philippines"
4. Dr. Gina Opiniano - "Simone de Beauvoir's Existentialist Feminism: A Critical Reading of the Magna Carta of Women"
5. Dr. Roland Theuas Pada - "Recognition: Freedom, Normativity, and Identity"
6. Dr. Raniel SM. Reyes - "Schnizoanalysis: A Deleuzo-Guattarian Philosophy of Therapeutic and Revolutionary Transformation."
This event is free and open to the public. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m.
